Emma and I had this push and pull friendship. We would flirt to a point and then one of us (usually Emma) would put on the brakes and BOOM we would stop talking.

At the time I was not aware – Emma had just broken up with her boy friend, only weeks before I had proposed the fateful naked twister – she kept a brave face cause I had no idea… I just thought she was mental.

OK, time to think out of the box – if Naked Twister wasn’t going to work, what will? maybe a challenge… a competition, maybe something like a hottest body competition.

At that time, we were both actively fit – Emma was well into Dancing, training several nights a week and I was a regular at the gym. Unfortunately my body (with the Croatian background) has this amazing ability to retain fat.

Em’s agreed to the hottest bod comp – where in the end the participants will strip down to underwear and judge the other person – the comp ended in 3 months!

I changed my weights program – hit the creatine and worked out a cardio plan. I increased body mass by about 6kg (the creatine helped) but I just couldn’t drop the lurve handles!

Emma began the competition in amazing shape – my friends were stunned that I even took the challenge on, they knew there was no way I could win – I knew I couldn’t win, but winning wasn’t the plan! The aim was to get her down to her underwear!

Over the next 3 months we spent a lot of time together, we used to run Albert Park Lake (Melbourne) each morning. This was both hilarious and embarrassing at the same time… Emma’s got no running rhythm, and looks like Elaine dancing from Seinfeld… anyone remember that episode?

By the end of the 3 months we were close friends… hanging out on weekends, chatting during the week and emailing each other 50 times a day… we never did judge each other and kinda forgot the arrangement.

By this time (Jan 2005) I had an idea for a couples massage course – I had written a massage program – named it SEDUCTION (these days its Emma’s business to promote and make money from, although I still present the program – more info @ Romantic Getaways). At the time I needed a test dummy to practice on – Emma was the obvious choice! I did make it clear that even though the massage “IS” supposed to be sexy – I would not take it to any point that would cause a disaster like naked twister.

Regardless, the massage was hot! It was much saucier than what I expected – Emma sat on the floor between my legs while I knelt behind her. I could feel myself breathing on her neck while watching a wave of goose bumps streaming down her arms. Hoping all the while for her to move her hands so they would brush up against my knees.

When the massage finished, we sat back – far away from each other. Both with a smile on our face. The tension was incredible… time for a cigarette to break up the tension – but that didn’t work, we had to get out of the house… get our minds focused on something else. A decision was made to visit a friend of mine, although less than an hour into the visit Em’s said she was ready to go home. We drove back to my place where her car was; as usual I invited her in for coffee… and as usual I expected her to say no – but this time was different… this time Emma said yes to a night cap…

Like seriously, how f-u-c-k-i-n-g hard is it to run a start up and feed yourself at the same time!?!?!?! It’s mid 2004, I’m living in this dump of a place close to Melbourne’s CBD (St. Kilda Road) although the rent is dirt cheap! One thing going for me at the time was that my parents had shelled out money for me to buy a good suit, at least when people met me they thought “he must be doing well…” (little did they know).

I place out my hand and introduce myself, asking her what she does and for a business card… with my mind focused on making money to pay next month’s ridiculously cheap rent, I scoop up her business card and bolt to the next opportunity to set up another potential business lead.

A week later, and after a few friendly emails we catch up for a business meeting. I’m sitting at a cafe watching this sexy girl in a corporate outfit walking across the road… she couldn’t have been older than 21, maybe 23??? She walks straight up to me and says “Hi, I’m Emma… you must be Denis?” I’m like… OMG, she’s even HOTTER!

Over the next 2 months, our business relationship grew… she was such a flirt… she was cheeky, fun and independent, definitely qualities I like! Yet she was still delicate, your girlie-girl type… and she would definitely look good in my bed!

5am (one Saturday morning), I’ve been out with the boys all night and so not in a clear thinking mode, I crawl into bed thinking… hmm… I could do with a shag, now would be an appropriate time to text Emma and see where things can lead to. All the right signs were there, it was the perfect plan! Now all I need is a witty opening line to send in a text that would grab her attention. Maybe… “You up for a game of Naked Twister?”

I didn’t see anything wrong with the comment… Emma thought differently. War of the wits was waged via a series of text messages that spanned over 3 hours (some sexy, some serious and some read the wrong way). In the end Emma threw out a text message BOMB… shattering my ego and leaving me pissed off and shagless! She had gone too far…

That day our friendship ended… I guess that NAKED TWISTER is not recommended for a first date!
